OUR SALES PAGE
Following you
will find all of our sales terms and policies.
OUR GOATS
All of our goats
are CAE, Johnes, CL, TB, and Brucellosis negative. They are routinely wormed
and their hooves are regularly trimmed. All animals for sale are in good health
and are up to date on all vaccines and preventative care.
Once the goat
leaves our farm, our responsibility ends.
We do not
guarantee the adult size of the animals, however, all of our adult breeding
stock adheres to the AGS and ADGA breed size standards for Nigerian Dwarf
Goats. We DO guarantee that the goat you purchase from us is reproductively
sound. Should your goat prove to be infertile, and your veterinarian determines
that the condition is genetic in nature and not due to improper nutrition or
due to illness, then we will replace your purchase once a suitable kid is
available. The replacement will be of like quality, though we cannot guarantee
that its appearance, eye color and the like will be identical, though we will
try to provide as similar as is available.
All sales are
final and there are no refunds.
However, if for
any reason you are unable to care for your goat, you may return it to our farm
in good health and we will either retain it or attempt to re-sell it to another
buyer.
Buyer is
responsible for the costs of Certificates of Veterinary Inspection ($35.00)
(and whatever travel papers that are required in order to deliver/receive a
goat into your state), cost of shipping crate, and airline or over-the-road
travel costs. We can provide our most current testing results to you free of
charge. If you request additional testing, you will be responsible for those
costs.

DEPOSITS/RESERVATIONS
We have
revisited our policy regarding the acceptance of deposits and how we take reservations
here at Avolino Farm. Previously, we required the payment of a deposit when
folks placed their reservation, and if the reserved kid was not born or was not available, then we would either
refund the deposit or apply it to the purchase of another kid of the customer's
choice.
However, moving
forward we welcome you to contact us to place your reservation, but no deposit
will be required. However, at your option, you may place a $50.00 deposit, and
by doing so you will not only secure a reservation on the kid of choice from
the breeding you elect, but you will also be locked in at a pre-kidding price
for your purchase. Once kids are born, pricing is based upon market forces,
pedigree, dam’s udder, conformation, and appearance, and will most likely be
higher. We always reserve the right to retain any and all kids in our herd.
However, when animals are offered up for sale, those with reservations or on
our waiting list are afforded the opportunity to purchase or decline to
purchase before we make available or advertise the kids for sale. When placing
a reservation, we require you provide us your contact information (name,
address, phone number and email address) so that we may notify you once the kid
has been born. Additionally, we will contact you about a month before the
kidding date as a reminder and to confirm the reservation. If we do not receive
a timely response to this reminder, you will receive a certified letter
notification that the lack of response has terminated your reservation.
DOWNPAYMENTS
Once our does
have freshened, and once all buyers on the waiting list with reservations have
either made their purchases or declined to do so, remaining kids will be
offered up for sale and advertised through our web site, on-line classifieds,
and through local and regional print advertising. Prospective buyers at this
time may reserve a kid by placing a down payment of 50% of the kid’s price. We
will release the kid to the buyer at 8-12 weeks of age (unless buyer chooses to
continue bottle feeding on their own) at which time the balance owed is due in
full. If the balance is not paid at 8 weeks, the buyer will forfeit the 50%
downpayment and we will sell the kid to another buyer unless other arrangements
have been mutually agreed upon in advance. After 8 weeks, a boarding fee of
$4.00 per day will accrue until the kid is picked up.
PAYMENT
Payment for
goats is due in full prior to goat being released to customer. We accept cash
for in person pick up, checks (goats will not be released until check clears
our bank), money orders, as well as credit and debit cards through PayPal.
(We are PayPal
Verified.)
TRANSPORTATION
Buyer is
responsible for all costs and arrangements associated with the transportation
of your purchase. If you are within driving distance of our farm, we will make
mutually convenient arrangements to be available for you to pick up your goat.
Some times, we may be able to arrange local delivery for a nominal fuel charge.
Otherwise, should you need to transport your kid via air freight, you may
either mail us an airline approved crate for transport, or we can purchase one
for you at your expense. We are approximately 1 ½ hours from Baltimore
Washington International Airport and we will gladly transport your kid to the
airport for $35.00 (to cover fuel and tolls). (We regret this charge has become
necessary in light of ever-increasing gasoline prices.)
